Dilophosaurus

By Editor  //  Creatures  //  1 Comment

I LOVE THIS DINO! For so many reasons, one of them being that it had opposable thumbs, just like humans! Such dexterity made it easy for this dinosaur to hold onto struggling prey. And speaking of prey, did anyone out there see Jurassic Park? Remember the scene where Dennis Nedry gets spat on and then devoured by one of these guys? While not exactly anatomically accurate, this movie does show us the wrath of the Dilophasaurus: these dinos had opposable thumbs, which they would use to grab hold of their victims and pin them down. In any event, check out our “Monsters of the Past,” card #37, and enjoy this clip below!

  • “While not exactly anatomically accurate, this movie was accurate in that Dilophasaurus would spit in their prey’s eyes so the prey would go blind, then they would kill the animal.” What? Dilophosaurus never did anything like that, nor would it. Did you even read the Dilophosaurus card?
